From trusted French educator to an EdTech platform
ABOUT THE
BRAND
Go Phrasing is a French language learning platform founded by French educator and creator Anamika Mahajan, built on years of teaching experience and a thriving language learning community. But the vision extended far beyond creating another app to learn French.
The goal was to build a language learning ecosystem where learners could discover quality educational content, and language educators and creators could share their expertise, grow their audience, and eventually offer their own courses all within a single platform.
As the product envisions to evolve from a learning app into a creator-driven EdTech platform, it needed a strong foundation (brand strategy) from the beginning itself and a brand identity that reflected collaboration, accessibility, and continuous growth. Now, the result is a brand designed not just for learning a language, but for building a community around it.
FINDING BRAND'S EDGE
WHAT WE FOUND
The market is full of French language learning apps, yet many learners struggle to move beyond the basics. Most platforms focus on delivering lessons, while educators often lack a dedicated space to share their expertise and grow their community.
WHAT WE CHOSE
Rather than creating another language learning app, we positioned GoPhrasing as a language learning ecosystem, a platform where learners discover trusted educators, creators share meaningful content, and learning continues beyond individual lessons.
WHAT WE REFUSED
We moved away from the typical EdTech approach of gamification and streaks. Instead, we built a brand around meaningful progress, real conversations, and a community that empowers both learners and educators.
HUMANISING
THE BRAND
If GoPhrasing were a person, it would be that teacher everyone wishes they had. The one who never makes you feel embarrassed for getting something wrong. The one who celebrates every small win, explains things until they finally click.
They don't just teach, but build confidence. They encourage questions, cheer your progress, and genuinely believe that every learner is capable of becoming fluent with the right guidance and support.
That personality became the heart of the brand. Through Chapter Red's strategy-first branding process, we translated these human qualities into GoPhrasing's tone of voice, visual identity, and communication style, creating a language learning platform that feels encouraging, approachable, and community-driven.
CRAFTING THE
IDENTITY
We wanted the identity to feel approachable, memorable, and instantly recognisable across every touchpoint of the platform.
The logo combines two overlapping speech bubbles, representing conversation, learning, and the exchange of knowledge between learners and educators. Their subtle smile-like expressions introduce a sense of friendliness, reinforcing that learning a language should feel encouraging rather than intimidating.
The colour palette balances trust with optimism. Deep blue establishes credibility and confidence, while bright yellow adds warmth, curiosity, and energy. Supporting colours introduce flexibility across lessons, categories, and learning experiences without compromising consistency.
From the app interface and social media to learning resources, merchandise, and marketing campaigns, every element was designed as part of one cohesive brand identity system. Together, they create a visual language that's simple, distinctive, and built to grow alongside the GoPhrasing community.
HEAR FROM THE
FOUNDER.
“What stood out most was their ability to truly understand my vision, even when I couldn't express it clearly. They asked thoughtful questions, listened deeply, and translated abstract ideas into powerful visual language. Every design decision, from colours to layout, everything was intentional. It felt like a true collaboration, not just execution. They didn't just make things look good, they built a brand identity that felt meaningful, strategic, and emotionally resonant.”
